Flotsam jewelry

I was in Niteroy, Brazil, and on the boardwalk there was a man. He was old, older than anyone I have known. He was sitting on the ground with some tools, metal wires, and a small stack of bones and other jungle detritus.

He was making jewelry. He inspired me to create these pieces.

I work with what I find on my trips to the world. I keep an eye on the ground and pick up the rusty, the broken, the fallen, the damaged.

I find beauty in decay. I see hope in lost things, lost causes. I’m a flaneur, and these are the memories of the world.

If you want to say hi, if you want to buy any of the pieces, if you want to commission a new one, get in touch: bodo(at)arserotica(dot)org
